Review Summary:

A really good basic steam mop, that does an excellent job of cleaning hard floors. Doesn't do anything fancy - no carpet cleaning or handheld mode, but gets your floors clean efficiently. Value for money.

Bissell is a recognised brand for steam mops and this model is at the lower price end of their price range. It’s a basic mop and is only for use on hard floors, having no carpet attachment. It’s made it to the ‘Which Best Buy‘ list though because, and customers agree, it does a good job at the one thing it sets out to do – give you clean floors.

This model comes with a choice of two microfibre cloths; one soft and one with scrubbing strips. The soft one is for use on delicate floors like laminates and the scrubbing strips are useful for tackling tough, sticky messes. Customers reported that it is really efficient at cleaning dirty floors and mopping up spills. It was found to be easy to use, and they liked the triangular head, which made it effortless to clean into corners. The mop has a nice solid feel to it, whilst being lightweight enough to handle with ease.

The tank fills up directly from the tap, which is easy. It’s worth noting, though, that there is no limescale filter, so that if you live in a hard water area this may be an issue. It’s not made to be used with a detergent and people who chose this model liked the idea of a chemical free clean. It heats up in 30 seconds, although it was reported that it takes a little while to get going with steam production, even when it’s meant to be hot enough. Once going, though, it produced a nice, steady stream of steam, for about 15 minutes. The cord length is generous at 7.6metres.

The main drawback noted by users was that the cloths didn’t come up that well after a wash and they were a little fiddly to fit.

Overall, the consensus was that this is a really good cleaner, especially for the price, if you just want a simple machine to clean hard floors. Take a look at the manufacturer’s video below to find out more. If you want to read more buyer reviews click the blue banner below the video.
