Review Summary:

This is a great multi-purpose cleaning tool. It would be a bit of an exaggeration to say that it can clean and disinfect your home from top to bottom, but not much of one. For the main job of floor cleaning, you get fantastic results and it even does a really good job on carpets. On top of that, you get all of the attachments for cleaning counters, upholstery and steaming garments. If you want a machine that will improve cleaning all over the home, then this is a model that you should consider.

The Thane H20 Mop X5 is much more than just a steam mop. As a mop, you know it cleans hard floors, but it also cleans carpets and it has a detachable handheld for a range of other uses. The effective 1300-watts of steaming power disinfects while it cleans and since you do not need to use any chemical cleansers, it is safe to use around children and pets.

For effective cleaning, this model really hits all of the right points. You get great results on hard floors of all sorts and it does the job much better than a traditional mop. The X5 also comes with a carpet glider that is great for steaming carpets. As a handheld, this machine delivers really good cleaning results for a range of different jobs. You can clean tiled walls, countertops, the stove, windows and you can even steam garments.

When it comes to handling, that is where it is sort of a tale of two machines. In the upright mode that you use for carpets and hard floors, this machine handles easily. The head has a great pivoting action and it is light and easy to manoeuvre. On the other side, the handheld is a bit heavier than some people may like. You should be able to use it with one hand, but the weight does make it a little unwieldy.

The Thane H20 X5 also offers really good versatility. As mentioned above, it can handle cleaning a variety of different types of flooring and it breaks down into a handheld for additional functions. Along with having the attachments for all of these different jobs, this machine has four selectable steam settings for the different cleaning tasks.

This model from Thane is also designed to be user-friendly. It is easy to get this steam mop out and have it ready to go. The water tank is easy to fill and the machine heats up quickly. You also get a nice 6m cord for a good cleaning radius and the head is shaped perfectly to fit into corners. In addition to that, this machine also has a good runtime for more cleaning at one time. At the highest setting, you get about 15-minutes and at the lowest setting, you get about half an hour.

Thane also seems to have made a fairly well-built and reliable machine. The consumer should get their money’s worth in regard to operating life and it is fairly low-maintenance. The purchase of this model does come with a 1-year limited warranty from the manufacturer, so you do not have to worry about any defects in workmanship or materials.
